Goal of this guide

In 5 minutes:
  • ✅ Create your first ad placement
  • ✅ Check the placement tag
  • ✅ Get ready to serve ads

Prerequisites

What you need:
  • An A2 Retailer account (ask your Admin if you don’t have one)
  • A website or app where ads will be shown

Step 1: Log in (1 min)

Open the A2 admin console.
Your initial password is sent by email. Be sure to change it after your first login.

Step 2: Create a placement (2 min)

Click the Placement menu in the left sidebar.
  1. Click the Create New Placement button
  2. Select a category: Choose Ads (ADS) or Recommendation (RECO)
  3. Select creative types: Toggle the types you want, such as display, video, or native (multiple selections allowed)
  4. Enter basic information:
    • Placement name: main_top_banner
    • Width: 1200
    • Height: 120
  5. Click the Save button
Include the location and size in the placement name so it’s easy to find later.

Step 3: Activate the placement (1 min)

New placements are inactive by default. In the placement list, click the placement you just created.
  1. Turn on the Activate toggle in the placement detail settings
  2. Save your changes
Ads are not shown while a placement is inactive.

Step 4: Check the placement tag (1 min)

On the placement detail page, check the Placement ID (Tag ID). Use this ID to integrate the SDK into your website.
{sdk_host} and {edge_host} vary by environment. Check the exact URLs with your Admin. Replace your-tagid with the Tag ID of the placement you created in Step 2.

Done! 🎉

You’ve successfully created your first ad placement!

FAQ

Yes, you can create multiple placements. However, the number of placements you can create may vary by plan. For details, see the pricing page. Each placement has a unique ID and is managed independently.
Yes, you can change the size at any time in the placement settings. However, if ads are already allocated to it, it’s a good idea to let the advertisers know.
Creating a placement doesn’t make ads show right away. An advertiser must create a campaign and request an allocation to this placement.
