This guide is for anyone requesting ad allocations with an Advertiser or Admin account.

What is an allocation?

An allocation connects a campaign’s creatives to a specific placement. For an ad to be served:
  1. A campaign must exist (budget and schedule set),
  2. Creatives must be registered (images, videos, etc.),
  3. An allocation request must be made for a placement, and
  4. The retailer must approve it.

Allocation request and approval demo

Understanding allocation status

An allocation goes through the following statuses:

Step 1: Create an allocation

Create the allocation

  1. In the Campaign menu, select the campaign to allocate.
  2. On the Allocation tab, click Create New Allocation.

Select the required information

Step 2: Set frequency

Limit the ad so it is not shown too many times to the same user.

Frequency capping

Example: “Show the ad to each user at most 3 times over 7 days, and stop showing it once they click”

Click limit behavior by objective

The Stop on click setting behaves differently depending on the campaign objective: Tips:
  • Combining frequency and click limits appropriately can maximize ad effectiveness and improve the user experience.
  • It helps prevent abuse and use ad resources efficiently.
Setting the frequency too low reduces the number of users you can reach. Experiment to find the right balance.

Step 3: Request approval

Once your settings are complete, request approval from the retailer.

Validation before requesting

When you click the request button, the following conditions are checked automatically:
If the conditions are not met, the request is refused. Check the error message and make the necessary changes.

Make the request

  1. On the allocation detail screen, click the Request approval button.
  2. In the confirmation popup, click Request.
  3. The status changes to Requested.

What to do after requesting

  2. Check the rejection reason (available in the comment).
  3. Edit based on the reason and resubmit.

Common rejection reasons

If you want to withdraw the request

You can cancel a request before it is approved.
  1. On an allocation in Requested status, click Withdraw request.
  2. The status returns to Preparing.
  3. You can edit the settings and request again.

Allocating to multiple placements

You can allocate one campaign to multiple placements at the same time.

Create a separate allocation for each placement.
  • Use different creatives per placement
  • Set different frequency per placement

Option 2: Bulk allocation

Select multiple placements at once and allocate them.
  1. In Create New Allocation, select multiple placements.
  2. The same creatives and settings are applied.

Troubleshooting

Check the following:
  1. Whether the campaign budget is at least 1 KRW
  2. Whether the campaign end date has not passed
  3. Whether there is at least one active creative
  4. Whether the creative type matches the placement type (Banner-Display, Video-Video)
Check the retailer’s comment on the allocation detail page. If there is no comment, contact the retailer directly.
Check the following:
  1. Whether the campaign schedule includes the current time
  2. Whether the campaign has budget remaining
  3. Whether there are enough target users → Check the metrics in Performance Analytics.
It depends on the placement settings. If the retailer has set up auto-approval for the placement, your request is approved immediately. Normally, requests go through the retailer’s review.
  • Preparing, Rejected status: Can be deleted
  • Requested status: Can be deleted after withdrawing
  • Approved status: Cannot be deleted (can only be canceled)
